In an informal conversation following a recent Governors’ meeting at SLAM the issue of ”What happens to the person (especially children) whom I care for when I am no longer able to care or when I die?” Who will support them, advocate for them? The question was asked “What could SLAM do to allay Carers’ concerns in this direction, to help them understand what needs to be put in place, what services are available, etc”.
Do you as a carer worry about this? Could carers let me know as soon as possible what your concerns, fears and anxieties are around these questions? Please also include your thoughts and ideas on what could be done about this so I can feed it back to the Psychological Medicine and Integrated Care Clinical Academic Group.
