Hello everyone. This time I have decided to create a video relating to Psychology. This short video introduces the Major Influential Schools of thought in the field of Psychology. I hope you enjoy.

Hi again. Welcome to another blog post by Matthew Mckenzie a mental health carer from Lewisham. It has been a while since my last blog post, I guess I have been so busy as of late. Since its the easter holidays I thought it would be a good time to write up a blog post on an event I go to every so often.
As noted in my other past carer blogs. I like to network with other carers in other boroughs of London and one of the best ways to do this is at carer organisations. One of the carer organisations I tend to visit is over in the borough of Lambeth. They usually have carer forums and on the 15th of March 2016, Carers Hub Lambeth held their forum which explored the use of creativity and relaxation for carers.
Hello Everyone, welcome to another of my blog posts and this time I am covering an event or forum shall we say. This open forum is from Hear-Us. Now “Hear US” is Croydon’s Mental Health Service User Group. They act as a coordinating body to facilitate, and ensure service users involvement in, the planning, delivery and monitoring of mental health services in Croydon.
So on Tuesday 1st March 2016 I was back at the CVA centre in Croydon. I guess It has been a while since I was over there.

Welcome to another blog post by mental health carer Matthew Mckenzie. Feel free to also check out my video site regarding mental health carers, mental health, psychology and so on.

Welcome to another blog post by mental health carer Matthew Mckenzie. Sometimes I write about coping as a mental health carer, other times I ll review an event or lecture, but I think its about time to raise some awareness. Of the time of this blog post, it is National Eating Disorder Awareness week, usually runs near the end of February.

Welcome to another mental health post from Carer Matthew Mckenzie. On the 4th of February 2016, it was National Time To Talk day, which was championed by Time To Change, which is England’s biggest programme to challenge mental health stigma and discrimination.
It has been a while since my last blog post. Usually I review psychiatry or psychology lectures, but I thought to go back into writing more about carers. This time I think I shall blog about why people want to be there for others, especially those that are close to them.
The role of a carer unfortunately is not an easy task or one that people are often ready for. Who is to say when the next person is to be struck down by a physical or mental illness. If we are to begin that journey where we are to care for our loved one, there are many paths that we can go down and each path can make things easier or incredibly difficult in the long run.
Welcome to another blog post from Matthew Mckenzie a carer from South London. I thought to do another lecture review from the course “Perspectives On Abnormal Psychology”. The course is taught by Drew Westen who is currently the professor in the Departments of Psychology and Psychiatry.

Professor Drew Westen
Professor Drew received a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University, then went on to the University of Sussex (England), and also received a Doctor of Philosophy in clinical psychology from the University of Michigan.
I want to go through lecture 1 from this course which looks into How Perspectives Influence Us
Dr Drew Opens the lecture talking about Phrenology and how researchers “if you can call them that” were trying to find out the relationships between skull size, personalities and brain structures.
Welcome to another review post on lectures. This one is from the course on The Origins of the mind and I ll be trying to review lecture 18 called “Emotion Regulation And Mood Disorders”
The Course “Origins of the Human Mind” is taught by Dr. Stephen P. Hinshaw. Dr Stephen is the Professor of Psychology and Vice-Chair for Psychology for UC Berkeley. The course has 24 lectures all rich with information about the human mind, psychology and psychiatry.

Dr Stephen Hinshaw
Hello fellow carers and all,

It has been a while since my last blog post. I guess its because I have been so busy on so many things. One of my tasks is attending awareness events and also helping at events, especially mental health and carer events. Still, one task that can take quite a bit of time is providing care or support to my close relative.
There is one problem though when talking about being a carer, let alone a mental health carer. This would be down to understanding the carers world, it goes far deeper. Perhaps much more deeper than I could try to explain. I want to blog abit about the idea of being a carer, especially experiencing the task becoming a carer where you feel you have lack of knowledge about the situation.
